San Antonio Clerk Hospitalized After Pursuing Beer Thief

San Antonio Convenience Store Clerk Hospitalized After Confrontation with Beer Thief

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 32-year-old convenience⁤ store clerk is currently hospitalized with⁢ life-threatening injuries after a harrowing incident Saturday night on the East side of san Antonio. The clerk was attempting too prevent a theft⁢ when the⁢ suspect fled⁤ with​ him clinging to the hood of his vehicle.

Police responded⁤ to⁢ a call around 11 p.m.‌ at a convenience store located in⁤ the 1200 block of Rigsby Avenue. Officers arrived to⁢ find the store⁢ open ​but unoccupied. Shortly after, dispatch received ‌reports of a ⁢man ⁢on the hood of a vehicle driving erratically‍ in the vicinity.

Responding officers quickly located the injured clerk nearby. ‌He was instantly transported to a local hospital due‌ to‍ the severity of his injuries.

Investigators determined​ that a suspect entered the convenience store and stole​ beer. When the clerk attempted to⁢ intervene and stop the theft, the⁣ suspect drove ⁢away with the ‍clerk holding‌ onto the hood‌ of the car. The clerk was ‌thrown from the vehicle a short distance from the store.

The san Antonio Police Department is actively investigating the ⁤incident and searching for the suspect. ‍Further details will be released as they become available.
