Samsung Redefines PC Gaming with New 37-Inch monitor Size
BERLIN, August 2025 – Samsung is challenging conventional PC monitor sizes with the introduction of a 37-inch display, a diagonal previously unseen in the gaming monitor market. Unveiled at Gamescom 2025, the new screen aims to bridge the gap between ultra-wide and traditional displays, offering a tailored experience for gamers and possibly reshaping the PC monitor landscape.
The move signals a shift in strategy for Samsung, betting that consumers are ready to embrace non-standard sizes if they deliver a tangible benefit. This follows successful diversification in other tech sectors – smartphones now offer ten sizes compared to two or three a decade ago, and TVs are available in fifteen distinct diagonals. Samsung believes this trend can translate to PC screens, offering users a more personalized experience. The new 37-inch monitor will be available in both standard and Gaming Odyssey G7 versions.
The standard model boasts USB-C connectivity with 90W power delivery, alongside multiple USB ports and an Ethernet network socket. The Odyssey G7 variant ramps up performance with a 165Hz refresh rate,1ms response time, and a 1000r curvature, promising immersive gameplay without the distortions sometimes found in ultra-wide screens.
Samsung’s innovation comes at a time when major technological leaps in monitor technology – OLED,Mini-LED,540Hz refresh rates,4K resolution, and HDR – have largely been achieved. The company is now focusing on format and size as key differentiators, anticipating a demand for more customized screen options.
