Samsung Accelerates Android 16 with One UI 8 Rollout, Starting with Mid-Range Devices
Seoul, South Korea – Samsung is rapidly deploying Android 16 with its new One UI 8 software, beginning with a wider-than-expected initial rollout that includes not only flagship models but also its mid-range Galaxy A series. The update initially launched in South Korea and is expected to expand globally to affected devices within days.
The first wave of updates encompassed the Galaxy S24 series (S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra) and the Galaxy S24 FE. Notably, Samsung has also extended the update to its foldable lineup, including the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, and even the mid-range Galaxy A56. This broad initial release signals a quicker update cadence compared to previous Android versions.
Further rollout phases are planned for this month, perhaps including the Galaxy A36 in the coming days. early October will see software updates for the S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and additional Galaxy smartphones.
