Samsung March 2026 Security Update: 65 Patches & 8 Critical Fixes

Samsung is rolling out a security update for its Galaxy devices this month, addressing a total of 65 vulnerabilities, eight of which are classified as critical. The March 2026 security patch, detailed by Samsung, is a crucial update for users of Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Of the 65 fixes, 58 address vulnerabilities within the core Android operating system, patched by Google. Samsung acts as a distributor in these cases, delivering Google’s security improvements to its devices. The remaining seven vulnerabilities are specific to Samsung’s software ecosystem and have been independently resolved by the company’s security team.

The eight critical vulnerabilities, identified by CVE numbers – CVE-2026-0006, CVE-2026-0027, CVE-2026-0028, CVE-2026-0030, CVE-2026-0031, CVE-2026-0037, CVE-2026-0038 and CVE-2026-0047 – originate directly from Android, utilizing the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) naming scheme employed by Google. Samsung designates vulnerabilities specific to its software as Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE).

Three vulnerabilities deemed moderate in severity are also addressed by the patch and are classified as SVEs. Samsung notes that full disclosure of some SVEs is currently withheld, stating, “Certain SVEs included in the Samsung Android Security Update are not disclosed at this time.” This practice is intended to prevent exploitation of the vulnerabilities before the update is widely deployed.

Currently, only five of the seven SVEs included in the update are publicly known. The timing of the update’s release remains unconfirmed, following a late February rollout. Samsung has not yet announced a firm date for the March security patch, but it is expected to precede the launch of One UI 8.5, which will debut with the Galaxy S26 series and subsequently be extended to other compatible devices.

Samsung Electronics has been a leading manufacturer of Android smartphones and tablets, according to MediaMarkt. As of May 2025, over 3 billion Galaxy smartphones had been sold globally, according to Wikipedia.
