Samsung Galaxy S26: Launch Date, $900 Trade-In & Pre-Order Deals Revealed

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

Samsung has opened pre-reservations for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series, offering substantial incentives to early adopters, the company announced this week. The launch event, scheduled for February 25th in San Francisco, will fully unveil the new devices, but customers can now register their interest and secure potential savings.

The pre-reservation program offers a guaranteed $30 Samsung credit applicable to purchases made through Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app. More significantly, customers participating in Samsung’s trade-in program can receive up to $900 in credit towards the purchase of a new Galaxy S26 by exchanging eligible older devices. The value of the trade-in is determined by Samsung and depends on the model and condition of the device being exchanged.

Beyond the guaranteed credits, Samsung is also holding a sweepstakes offering one lucky registrant a $5,000 Samsung.com gift card. Participation in the sweepstakes is automatic with pre-reservation registration; a purchase is not required to win. The pre-reservation period closes on February 25th, coinciding with the official product unveiling.

According to Samsung, the trade-in program requires devices to be in quality working condition and meet specific eligibility requirements, which are detailed on the company’s website. Only one device can be traded in per new device purchased, and the trade-in value is subject to Samsung’s assessment. The offer is limited to new Samsung products purchased online.

While Samsung has not yet disclosed the technical specifications or aesthetic details of the Galaxy S26, the pre-reservation program is designed to generate early momentum ahead of the launch. The company confirmed the February 26th launch date and associated promotions earlier this week, according to reports. The pre-reservation process requires users to provide their name, email address, and phone number.

The $900 trade-in credit represents a potential reduction from the $1,250 offered with the Galaxy S25 series last year, and the pre-reservation credit has also decreased from $50 to $30. However, the opportunity to win a $5,000 gift card remains a significant draw for potential customers.

Samsung has partnered with major retailers including Safeway, Albertsons, Kroger, and Sprouts to facilitate the purchase experience. The company has not yet commented on whether the pre-reservation incentives will be extended beyond the initial launch period.
