Reports from the tech publication Gizmochina and regional news aggregators confirm that enterprise editions of recent flagship devices will receive a total of eight major Android versions.

Galaxy S25 Launch Strategy Splits Consumer and Business Tiers

The hardware manufacturer initially rolled out its Galaxy S25 smartphone family globally in January. This rollout was followed by the release of dedicated Enterprise Edition variants for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in February.

Standard models face a cap of seven major operating system updates and seven years of security patches. Business-tier variants, however, receive an expanded lifecycle.

Android 23 Horizon Sets New Benchmark for Corporate Fleets

The enterprise configuration ships with Android 15 out of the box. It is scheduled to remain compatible with upcoming software releases until Android 23.

Meanwhile, standard Galaxy S25 consumer models are restricted to seven major updates. Their upgrade path ends at Android 22.
