Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to launch with a 5,000 mAh battery, a capacity matched by five previous generations of its flagship smartphone. But, the company’s more affordable Galaxy A07 5G boasts a larger 6,000 mAh battery, raising questions about Samsung’s prioritization of features across its product lines.
The Galaxy A07 5G, currently available in Myanmar and priced at approximately $150, features a 6.7-inch display with a 720 x 1600 resolution, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, and a 50-megapixel rear camera. Despite its low cost, Samsung is committing to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device.
The discrepancy in battery capacity between the S26 Ultra and the A07 5G is notable. The larger battery in the A07 5G, combined with its less demanding specifications, is expected to deliver multi-day battery life. This contrasts with the S26 Ultra, which, despite its premium positioning, maintains the same 5,000 mAh battery as its predecessors.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to focus on performance, camera capabilities, artificial intelligence features, and display quality. According to recent Geekbench scores, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The 256GB storage variant is currently estimated to cost around $1,399.
Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra on February 25, 2026, with a live event scheduled for 7:00 PM. Videos and images of the recent flagship in various colors have already surfaced online. The devices are anticipated to be available for purchase in March 2026.
The Galaxy A07 5G is currently only available in Myanmar, but a wider release could offer a compelling entry-level alternative for consumers prioritizing battery life.
