Broadcaster Ryan Tubridy and his wife, Dr Clare Kambamettu, are expecting their first child together in the new year, following media reports over the weekend and a confirmation post on Instagram by Tubridy. The baby will be Tubridy’s third child and Kambamettu’s first.

Confirming the News After Months of Private Celebration

Tubridy, 53, shared a smiling selfie with his wife on Instagram to address the impending arrival. “Thank you for the kind and thoughtful well wishes about our impending arrival, they mean a lot,” he wrote in the caption, adding that they were “beyond excited and looking forward to a very busy 2027.”

The pregnancy news follows close on the heels of the couple’s wedding. The broadcaster had previously confirmed his engagement in June of that year while hosting his Virgin Media UK radio programme, which also broadcasts on Q102 in Ireland, describing it as “a very beautiful feeling.” At the time, he explained: “It was just an accumulation of a lot of lovely things happening, and I just decided ‘Now is the time, here we go’,” adding that he had “a whole new adventure ahead.”

The couple made their first public appearance together in November 2023 at The Irish Post Awards in London, arriving in the months following Tubridy’s high-profile departure from RTÉ. Reports at the time characterized Kambamettu, a clinical psychologist and former Rose of Tralee, as his “rock.” Dating rumors had circulated after they were seen together in the west of Ireland, where Tubridy frequently spends time.
