Ryan Giggs Snubbed Again as Premier League Hall of Fame Omissions draw Criticism
MANCHESTER, England - Despite a glittering career spanning over two decades with Manchester United, Welsh legend Ryan Giggs continues to be overlooked by the Premier League Hall of Fame, sparking debate among fans and pundits. The latest inductions have onc again excluded the former winger, whose record remains unparalleled in terms of longevity and success with a single club.
Giggs played 963 games and scored 188 goals for Manchester United between 1990 and 2014. He secured a remarkable 13 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and four League Cups, alongside two Champions League victories in 1999 and 2008. He also earned 64 international caps for Wales. Despite these achievements,and being named Premier League Player of the Year in 2008,Giggs has yet to receive recognition from the Hall of Fame.
The Premier League Hall of Fame was established in 2021, with Alan shearer and Thierry henry as its inaugural inductees. Subsequent additions include Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Dennis Bergkamp, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Patrick Vieira, Sergio Agüero, Didier Drogba, Vincent Kompany, Peter Schmeichel, Ashley Cole, Andy Cole, and John Terry. Managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have also been honored.Giggs briefly served as Manchester United’s interim manager following David Moyes’ dismissal and later as assistant manager under Louis van Gaal. He was named to the PFA Team of the Year on six occasions during his playing career.
