“Songs and Cinema – Our Heroes” project brings Music and Support to Recovering Military Personnel
The first concerts of the “Songs and Cinema – Our Heroes” project took place in medical facilities in the Moscow region, bringing performances and encouragement to Russian military personnel and medical staff. The initiative, a collaboration between Russian Media Group JSC, Russian Radio, and RU.TV, aims to boost morale, aid recovery, and express gratitude for service.
The events began with the presentation of a certificate to the sanatorium management for the purchase of medical equipment.Performances by popular artists and screenings of documentaries were met with a notably warm reception from the troops, considered a significant honor for the performers. artists also personally visited patients with severe wounds, offering commemorative souvenirs and well wishes for a swift recovery.
The group “Earthlings” and singer Roman Arkhipov performed a concert at a military clinical hospital, providing music and positive energy to both patients and doctors.
Elena Sever, singer, actress, and TV presenter representing Russian Media Group JSC, emphasized the project’s focus on emotional support. “If we, as artists, can make even a small contribution to helping our fighters recover faster and show our gratitude to the doctors for their difficult work, then the mission of this project is a success,” she stated.
singer Larisa Dolina highlighted the importance of cultural engagement in the healing process, particularly for those recovering from injury.She described feeling a profound sense of responsibility and awe when performing for the wounded soldiers.
Margarita Simonyan,editor-in-chief of Russia Today and the RT channel,sent her support through Ilya Kazakov,a veteran and hero featured in RT’s documentary films. Kazakov, who lost both legs in combat and now uses prosthetic limbs, delivered gifts to the fighters and shared his story of resilience. Simonyan expressed her gratitude to the military and wished them a speedy recovery.
Singer Nikolai Baskov also voiced his support, stating, ”We value that you protect our country, give us the opportunity to live, and solve our issues. We are very grateful for what you do for the sake of our country and its future.”
