Piaton Ruled Out of University Match Due to Unusual Injury
Nicolas Piaton, a center for CAP (likely referring to a rugby club), will be unable to compete in the French university team’s match against England on Saturday, May 24, 2025. A poorly placed knee
has sidelined him due to injury.
The incident: An Unfortunate Training Mishap
The injury occurred during a light training session on wednesday, May 21, around 4 p.m. while the players were engaged in a 12-on-12 drill, described as ceinturés mais sans intensité
(tackled but without intensity), an awkward collision resulted in Piaton’s injury.
J’ai pris un gros coup de genou au niveau des testicules, un peu cocasse comme blessure, mais le problème c’est que ça a créé un gros hématome qui m’a empêché de jouer.

recovery Attempts and Medical Assessment
Following the incident, Piaton spent an hour attempting to recover. The pain radiated to his back and lower abdomen. He spent the night taking painkillers, hoping to return to the field the next day. Unfortunately, the pain persisted. A subsequent examination at the hospital in Périgueux revealed no complications, but doctors advised him to refrain from playing for at least ten days.
The size of a Kiwi: Describing the Hematoma
The 21-year-old player described the resulting hematoma as being à peu près de la taille d’un kiwi
(roughly the size of a kiwi). Despite the discomfort, Piaton maintained a sense of humor about the situation.
Au début c’était un peu marrant, après beaucoup moins, mais on a dire qu’au niveau de santé ça va.
