Dubai residents Can Now Report City damage Instantly via WhatsApp
DUBAI, UAE – dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) today launched “Madinati,” a new smart reporting service accessible through the “Mahboub” chatbot on WhatsApp, offering residents and visitors a streamlined way to report infrastructure and public transport damage. The service allows users to quickly submit reports – including photos – of issues like damaged pavements, bus shelters, traffic signals, and directional signs directly via the popular messaging app.
The launch is a key component of RTA’s 2024-2030 Strategy, focused on “Future Readiness,” becoming a “Data-Driven Organisation,” and building an “Agile Technological Infrastructure” to solidify Dubai’s position as a smart and sustainable city.
Madinati simplifies the reporting process, enabling users to capture and send photographic evidence of damage. These reports are promptly routed to the appropriate RTA departments for swift action, significantly reducing response times.
“The launch of the smart reporting service Madinati through “Mahboub” chatbot on WhatsApp underscores RTA’s commitment to enhancing community participation in reporting damage and preserving the quality of life across the emirate, while also strengthening RTA’s corporate reputation,” said Meera Al Shaikh, Director of Customer Happiness at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector. ”It further boosts engagement with the public by ensuring rapid responses to reports and feedback within record time.”
RTA reports that its Call Center already received 6,525 reports through the Madinati service during the first half of 2025. the platform also facilitates the submission of public proposals related to infrastructure and streets,fostering a stronger partnership between the RTA and the community in maintaining Dubai’s urban landscape.
