Royal family LIVE: Photographer Pinpoints Moment William & Harry‘s Relationship Began to Fracture
A royal photographer has identified a key moment when the dynamic between Prince William and Prince Harry appeared to shift, offering a glimpse into the evolving relationship ahead of a new documentary release.
Photographer Ian Lloyd, reflecting on his work for The Mirror ahead of the cinema release of “William and Harry: The Unseen Photos,” believes subtle signs of strain were visible as early as 2009. He noted that photos taken at RAF Shawbury, where both princes were undergoing helicopter pilot training, showed them “going through the motions.”
“Looking back at my photos with hindsight,I can now see one or two tell-tale signs that things weren’t going that well between the brothers,” Lloyd said.further evidence, according to Lloyd, surfaced at Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in April 2011. He observed Harry appearing “quite fed up” during the event. This observation aligns with details shared in Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare, where he described discomfort with his Blues and Royal uniform. Lloyd suggests Harry’s demeanor may also have stemmed from a growing awareness of diverging paths for the two brothers.
The photographer also pointed to Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle as a pivotal point. While offering Harry the “family unit he so craved,” it appears to have irrevocably damaged his relationship with William, with the bond now seeming “beyond repair.”
