Roy Keane Silences Sky Sports Host After Criticizing Liverpool’s Milos Kerkez
LIVERPOOL,ENGLAND – September 21,2025 – Roy Keane sharply criticized Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez following the team’s 1-0 victory over Burnley, and then abruptly silenced a Sky Sports presenter who attempted to offer a more charitable assessment of the young player’s performance.
Kerkez, 25-time Hungarian national team player, received a yellow card in the 22nd minute for simulation while attempting to draw a penalty. He was afterward substituted in the 38th minute after displaying uncertain play and committing further fouls. Keane didn’t hold back in his assessment.
“he received a yellow card for crazy acting and then fouled the halfway line,” Keane said. ”You know, Burnley will play a counter-attack, and if you make another mistake, it is over.” He further stated, “Wow, but he wanted to fall away. Obviously, the video referee and the referee are all watching.”
Sky Sports presenter David Jones interjected, questioning whether Kerkez was simply a “young player trying to prevail at a new club and wants to make a good impression.” Keane immediately cut him off.
“No, no, stay quiet, Dave.Stay quietly,” Keane responded, reportedly humiliating the presenter during the live broadcast. He then sarcastically added that Kerkez had already made a good impression.
Liverpool secured the win with a penalty from Mohamed Salah in the final minute, maintaining their perfect record at the top of the Premier League table.
