A 34-year-old man, identified as Yasin, known in criminal circles as Seref, was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in Rotterdam’s Delfshaven district during what authorities believe was a failed heroin deal. The shooting occurred around 4:50 PM on the Indrapoerastraat, a residential street with a large apartment complex.
According to multiple sources, Yasin was attempting to sell several kilograms of heroin when the buyers refused to pay. A firefight ensued, leaving Yasin with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at resuscitation by first responders, he died at the scene.
Police have arrested a 35-year-old Rotterdam resident in connection with the shooting, initially on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
