Rosario Police Shut Down Illegal Halloween Motorcycle Rally and Impound 82 Vehicles
During a morning operation, municipal inspectors and police officers in Rosario blocked and dismantled an illegal motorcycle rally under a specific slogan, seizing 82 vehicles and sending them to the municipal impound lot.
Halloween Caravan Conspiracies and the Route to La Florida
Organized under the Halloween theme and the defiant slogan “Al que atrapan pierde,” the event drew motorcyclists from both Rosario and neighboring localities. The Secretaría de Control y Convivencia municipal detected the plans beforehand through digital tracking and intelligence work. Authorities noted that identical convocations were planned across other cities nationwide.
The itinerary targeted several high-traffic arteries, culminating in a major gathering point at the intersection of Roberto Núñez and the coastal strip of La Florida. In response, local enforcement agencies set up a network of fixed and mobile checkpoints to intercept racers before dangerous street maneuvers could materialize.
Two Major Interceptions Across Rosario
The enforcement operation unfolded in distinct phases across the city. The initial sweep took place at Boulevard Seguí and Presidente Perón, where a large group of riders had converged at a petrol station. Agents impounded 39 motorcycles at that single location.
The operation then shifted northward to La Florida. Using a coordinated bottleneck strategy, municipal inspectors and police forces trapped the remaining participants. This secondary sweep resulted in the seizure of 41 additional motorcycles and two automobiles. During the La Florida confrontation, a group of local residents began throwing stones and blunt objects at the security forces in an attempt to disrupt the operation, though officers maintained their positions.
Inspections revealed multiple infractions. Vehicles lacked mandatory circulation documents and essential safety equipment. Officers also discovered numerous modified, illegal exhaust pipes and documented several positive breathalyzer tests for alcohol consumption among the operators.
Official Assessment of the Municipal Deployment
Diego Herrera, the municipal secretary of Control y Convivencia, detailed the extensive preparation required to counteract the coordinated event. He emphasized that the city utilized substantial resources to preempt the coordinated rides.
“La intervención fue muy importante. Desplegamos gran cantidad de recursos para este operativo. Veníamos viendo que se iban a reunir muchas personas, incluso de los alrededores de Rosario, para hacer picadas y circular en conjunto de manera temeraria, provocando riesgos también para el resto de la población. Todo con varios lugares de encuentro y un recorrido concreto. Y en función de eso planificamos todo el operativo”
That high-level mobilization successfully removed 82 non-compliant vehicles from public circulation before fatalities or serious collisions occurred on the urban corridor.
