RosarioS CEC to Host Premiere of ‘Trinchera‘ – A New Dance Work Exploring Heritage and Resilience
Rosario, Argentina – The Centro de Excelencias Contemporáneas (CEC) will premiere “Trinchera,” a new dance project on Friday, September 26th at 8 p.m., presented as part of the Rosario International Arts festival (FAER). The work,conceived by León Ruiz and Marcio Pereyra,blends elements of Argentine folk traditions with contemporary dance,offering a poetic exploration of community,resistance,and the challenges of preserving cultural identity.
FAER positions itself as a platform for the professional progress of scenic artists, and “Trinchera” exemplifies this mission. The 50-minute performance features a cast of ten interpreters – Emiia Diaz Romero, Valentina Filak, Maria Agustina muñoz, Eliana Zárate, Josefina Venzatti, Victoria Di Fazio, Ernesto Remedi, Eugenia Porcel de Peralta, Marcio Pereyra, and Victoria barbieri – and is set to original music by Chango Spasiuk. The production team includes lorena Fenoglio (costume design), Tania Scaglione (light design), and Aet scenographies (scenographic elements).
“Trinchera” directly confronts “those inherited constructions that still seem immovable today,” according to promotional material,bringing to the stage “dance poetic stories,played by kids and kids of the city.” the piece delves into themes of collective strength in the face of adversity, encapsulated in the evocative lines: “The herd. The flock. The mares. / Oblivion, love, resistance. / The farewell, the encounter, belonging. / Uprooting or exile.”
The performance is geared towards an ATP audience, and tickets will be available for purchase soon. The production is a project of Rosarina company, under the general direction of León Ruiz.
