Rosario artists and choirs to perform for Pope Leo XIV in Argentina
As preparations ramp up across Buenos Aires, Córdoba, and Luján for the arrival of Pope Leo XIV on Sunday, November 8, 2026, artists and choristers from across the country are finalizing intense rehearsals for four days of masses, vigils, and liturgies. More than 600 choristers and 200 musicians are scheduled to perform during the papal visit, including a specialized Coro de Jóvenes combining 150 voices and an orchestra of 70 musicians.
Among those participating are artists and ensembles selected to represent their local communities before the Pontiff. While the Pope will not visit Rosario, four local singers and a choral group were chosen to carry the city’s music to the events, joining prominent national figures such as Abel Pintos, Luciano Pereyra, Nahuel Pennisi, Jairo, and Jorge Rojas.

Rosario will be represented by Valentino Merlo—one of the first artists called to perform during the Encuentro con los jóvenes on November 10 at the Monumento a los Españoles in Buenos Aires—alongside catechist Ariel Glaser, singer Agustina Baro Graf, and musician and theologian Pablo Martínez. In addition, the Rosario choir Vox Cordium will send 12 members, aged 20 to 35, to participate in the youth choir formations.
El Papa no viene a Rosario, pero nosotros llevamos Rosario al Papa,
Nicolás Glaser noted regarding the opportunity.
Vigils, Music, and Preparations in Córdoba
Meanwhile, in Córdoba, a youth vigil at the FAdeA facility starting at 18:00 on Monday, November 9, will feature popular music, folk art, choral performances, and religious expressions leading up to the Tuesday morning mass presided over by León XIV at 10:00. Organizers expect pilgrims to stay overnight, advising attendees to bring items such as 15-liter backpacks, sleeping bags, and folding chairs while prohibiting the use of tents.
The musical lineup in Córdoba includes Jairo, Jorge Rojas, Magui Olave, Q´Lokura, Facundo Toro y los Nombradores del Alba, and other regional groups. For the federal gathering, screens at FAdeA will project images of youth groups from across the country, while pastoral listening spaces and confession stations will operate on-site during the vigil.

Health Services and Musical Performances Support Event Activities
Health professionals and ambulances will be stationed at FAdeA, Plaza Vélez Sarsfield, Plaza España, and Plaza San Martín, alongside calm areas for autistic individuals at FAdeA. Father Sebastián Achcar announced that the choir and orchestra would offer an open performance at the Usina del Arte at 21:00.
