Princess of Wales Kate Middleton visits Dose of Nature charity
Kate Middleton Steps Out in London for Surprise Mental Health Charity Visit
Kate, the Princess of Wales, recently stepped out for a surprise visit to Dose of Nature, a London-based mental health charity that combines psychology with engagement in the natural world. Kensington Palace released photos on Friday detailing the late October visit, showing the future queen walking among the trees at Pensford Field park in the Kew district.
The October 21 outing featured meetings with charity founder Dr. Alison Greenwood and her team. The Princess explored how the organisation approaches psychological care through one-to-one guidance and nature connection.
During the visit, the Princess spoke with charity participants about how the outdoors has aided their personal healing. Among them was Tom, a former participant who transitioned to a Nature Guide volunteer role with the organization. According to a Dose of Nature news release, the Princess told him their journeys differed, but she found it wonderful to hear how nature connection proved healing, adding that she felt the same way.
For the outdoor appearance, the Princess wore a casual ensemble consisting of what appeared to be a Barbour jacket from Alexa Chung’s collection, paired with a navy blue turtleneck sweater and blue jeans from & Other Stories. The outing follows a personal period of recovery for the Princess, who has been in remission from cancer since January 2025 and previously explored the relationship between healing and the outdoors through her video series titled “Mother Nature.”

The engagement aligns with her broader advocacy work surrounding the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors. Last month, the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood—an initiative she founded—announced new research efforts examining how nature supports the well-being of children in their earliest years. In a recent essay regarding the initiative, she emphasized that spending time outdoors or engaging in creativity helps nurture skills that cannot be digitized, including awareness, empathy, humility, and love.
