Rory McIlroy recorded a drive of 392 yards during a TGL match on Monday, marking the longest drive in the league’s history. The feat occurred during a match between Boston Common Golf and Jupiter Links at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
McIlroy, representing Boston Common Golf alongside teammates Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama, delivered the record-breaking drive. Hideki Matsuyama later sealed a win for Boston in overtime, according to TGL coverage. Boston Common Golf clinched the No. 1 playoff seed with the victory, as reported by TGL officials.
The TGL, a tech-infused golf league, was co-founded by McIlroy and Tiger Woods. The league’s 2026 season began on December 28, 2025, and features six teams: Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, Atlanta Drive GC, and The Bay Golf Club. Each team consists of four players and competes in a format combining nine holes of alternate-shot play and six holes of head-to-head singles.
Jupiter Links, led by Tiger Woods, suffered a loss in the match against Boston. Woods described the loss as “frustrating,” according to TGL reports. Atlanta Drive GC, the defending champions from the 2025 season, are also competing in the 2026 playoffs.
The league’s regular season consists of five matches, with each team playing against every other team once. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals on March 17, culminating in a best-of-three series for the SoFi Cup on March 23 and 24. Playoff ticket presale begins on March 4.
All TGL matches are broadcast live on a combination of ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN+. The league plays its matches at the SoFi Center, a purpose-built 1,500-seat arena on the campus of Palm Beach State College.
