## Matt Brown Dismisses Ronda Rousey Comeback Talk: “She’ll Get Destroyed”
Former UFC welterweight contender Matt Brown doesn’t believe a potential return to mixed martial arts for Ronda Rousey would end well, bluntly stating she “will get destroyed.” Brown’s assessment comes as speculation continues regarding Rousey’s future, years after her departure from the UFC following consecutive losses to Amanda Nunes.Brown’s skepticism centers on the unforgiving nature of MMA and the relentless pace of improvement within the sport. He argues that extended time away from active competition creates an insurmountable disadvantage, regardless of past accomplishments. ”There’s a point where you’ve just got to say I’m done. I’ve spent enough time away from the sport that coming back is not going to be a good option for me anymore and Ronda’s past that point without a doubt. She’s got to know it, too,” Brown said.
The veteran fighter believes Rousey’s ego might potentially be fueling any consideration of a comeback. “The only question with her is just her ego. She realy thinks she’s the greatest fighter ever and she can probably take this time off and come back but it doesn’t work that way. It just doesn’t. You take a certain amount of time off, it’s over. Everybody else is training everyday. You’re going to get smashed in there.”
Rousey’s groundbreaking success propelled women’s MMA into the mainstream, but Brown contends that popularity won’t translate to victory. “I wasn’t interested in watching her when she was fighting in her prime,” Brown stated. “So a comeback doesn’t interest me personally. Take that for what it is. Make up your own mind on it.”
While Rousey has found success in professional wrestling with WWE since leaving the Octagon, Brown emphasizes that this experience doesn’t compensate for a lapse in high-level MMA training and competition. He concludes that fame and past achievements are no substitute for the continuous dedication required to remain competitive in a constantly evolving sport.
