Man Utd Eyes Ollie Watkins Amidst Striker Search

The Red Devils are actively searching for attacking reinforcements, with Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa emerging as a potential target. This move signals a shift in strategy as the club evaluates its options for the upcoming season, aiming to bolster its offensive capabilities.

Watkins in United’s Sights

Manchester United has expressed interest in signing Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins. The club has been connected with numerous attacking players recently. Despite interest, an agreement with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo remains unfinished.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the situation through his latest video. He also mentioned that United are seeking a more affordable solution for the forward position, ruling out a move for Hugo Ekitike, who could cost between £70-80 million. This opens the door for rivals Liverpool, who may target the 22-year-old.

Romano confirmed reports of United’s interest in Watkins. The team contacted Aston Villa to discuss the player’s availability and the potential terms of a deal. At 29 years old, Watkins offers experience, having played 184 Premier League matches, with 75 goals and 36 assists.
