**Ringo Starr** Corrects Script Errors in Beatles Biopic
As theaters gear up for a wave of Beatles-related excitement leading up to the band’s cinematic event in 2028, **Ringo Starr** is actively ensuring accuracy in the upcoming biopic.
Meeting with **Sam Mendes**
After traveling to London this past April to confer with director Sam Mendes, **Starr** voiced concerns regarding the portrayal of his first marriage to **Maureen Starkey Tigrett** within the script for the four-part biopic. The script is being crafted by **Jez Butterworth**, **Peter Straughan**, and **Jack Thorne**.
**Starr** told The New York Times, “He had a writer — very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with **Maureen** and I. That’s not how we were. I’d say, ‘We would never do that.’”
Approval and Skepticism
Presently, **Starr** is satisfied with his character’s depiction in the script. Even so, he remains uncertain about **Mendes**’ approach to filming four movies simultaneously. “But he’ll do what he’s doing, and I’ll send him peace and love,”
he stated.
**Barry Keoghan** to Play **Ringo Starr**
**Barry Keoghan**, who will portray **Starr**, previously shared details of their meeting, describing it as “absolutely lovely.”
He added that **Starr** “played the drums for me,”
which he remembered as “was one of those moments where you’re just in awe and just froze.”
Unique Narrative Approach
Each film will be interconnected, presenting the band’s history from each member’s perspective. The entertainment industry has seen similar approaches, such as the multiple perspectives offered in Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk,” which provided a multifaceted view of the historical event (War History Online).
Full Cast Announced
Alongside **Keoghan**, the cast includes **Paul Mescal** as **Paul McCartney**, **Joseph Quinn** as **George Harrison**, and **Harris Dickinson** as **John Lennon**.
