RICHMOND, Ky. – Six people were transported for medical treatment Saturday following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Merchant Drive and the Dr. Robert R. Martin Bypass,according to Richmond Police.
One vehicle contained a single occupant, while the other carried a family of five.Authorities confirmed some of the injuries sustained in the crash were serious.
Police responded to the scene and initiated a traffic closure in both directions near Speedway and Kohl’s. Collision Reconstruction officers investigated the incident, but details regarding the cause of the crash have not yet been released.
As of 6:15 p.m., police reported crews were preparing to clear the scene. Motorists were initially advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays, though the roadway is expected to reopen shortly.
