Renée Slegers has committed her long-term future to Arsenal after signing a new contract with the Women’s Super League club until 2029.

The extension comes as Arsenal sits third in the WSL table, eight points behind leaders Manchester City at the halfway point of the season.

Slegers, whose 18-month deal was set to expire at the end of this season, led Arsenal to Champions League glory last season and finished as league runners-up behind Chelsea.

The 36-year-old Dutchwoman initially served as interim head coach in October 2024 following Jonas Eidevall’s resignation, and secured the position permanently after an 11-match unbeaten run. The Gunners remain undefeated at home in the WSL under her leadership.

“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract here, as I believe we have so much to achieve together – this season and in the years to come,” Slegers said. “from playing in the academy and watching Arsenal win the Champions League in 2007, to experiencing it with our players, staff and supporters last summer, I’m immensely proud to share this journey with Arsenal, a club that means so much to me and to so many people.”
