Remainder of Bonnaroo 2025 canceled in Tennessee due to severe weather

Bonnaroo Festival Canceled Due to Severe Weather

The highly anticipated Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee has been called off for the weekend. The cancellation stems from dangerous weather forecasts predicting heavy rain and perilous conditions at the festival site.

Festival Grounds Closed

Severe weather forced the shutdown of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which was scheduled to run through Sunday. The event organizers cited significant, persistent precipitation as the main reason, with the National Weather Service predicting worsening conditions for campers and those trying to leave the area in Manchester, Tennessee.

Organizers expressed their disappointment. They stated they “are beyond gutted” in their online statement, but added, “we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo.”

“We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision,”

The festival started on Thursday, with Luke Combs as the headliner. Friday’s events were already paused because of the severe weather threat. According to a recent report, 1.4 million music festival tickets were sold in 2023, demonstrating the popularity of such gatherings (Statista).

The festival was to have hosted many performers. Scheduled to perform were Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Vampire Weekend, among numerous others. The event, held on a 700-acre farm, was expected to draw huge crowds.

Bonnaroo originated in 2002, continuing until 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic caused an interruption. It resumed in 2022.
