Former Takarazuka Star Rei Makoto Announces First Post-Revue Concert, “Flare”
TOKYO – Former Takarazuka Revue star Rei Makoto will launch her solo career with the concert “Flare” in December, marking her first performance since leaving the all-female musical theater troupe in August 2015. The concert will be held at Tokyo international Forum Hall A on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, followed by two performances at the Main Hall of Umeda Arts Theatre in Osaka on Saturday, December 13th and Sunday, December 14th, 2025.Makoto joined Takarazuka in 2009 and quickly gained recognition for her skills in singing, dancing, and acting. She rose to prominence as a top star in the Star Troupe in 2019, following acclaimed performances in productions like Romeo and Juliet, Yagyu Ninpocho, and More Dandyism!-for which she received the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival Award and a Newcomer award in the Theatre category in 2011. She later starred in stage adaptations of Indian films, including “RRR x TAKA”R”AZUKA ~√Bheem~” and “I don’t remember!”. In January 2015, Makoto became the third performer in Takarazuka Revue history to hold a concert at Nippon Budokan, titled “ANTHEM.”
The “flare” concert features a creative team including general direction and stage production by Ota Takaaki (WONDER LIVE Inc.), known for his work with artists like Lady Gaga, Mrs. GREEN APPLE,and Perfume; choreography by RENAN,who has collaborated with K-POP artists aespa and G-DRAGON; and music direction by Ryo’LEFTY’Miyata,who has worked with Official Hige Dandism,Superfly,and BE:FIRST.
“I would like to make this a concert that will bring a new shock to Rei Makoto,” Makoto stated. “I am very much looking forward to spending time with you all. Please look forward to it.” the concert’s title, “Flare,” represents the duality of flames-their swaying and their explosive energy.
Tickets, priced at S seats 13,000 yen, A seats 8,000 yen, and B seats 5,500 yen (all seats reserved, tax included), will go on general sale Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 10:00. The performance is planned, produced, and organized by Umeda Arts Theater.
