Inter Miami Pursues Sergio Reguilón,Former Real Madrid Fullback
Inter Miami is in talks to sign Sergio Reguilón,teh 28-year-old left-back,according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The move would reunite Reguilón with Lionel Messi and add another international player to David Beckham‘s MLS club.
Reguilón became available after his contract with Tottenham ended in July. He progressed through Real Madrid’s youth system, debuting with the first team in the 2018-19 season, and was once considered a potential replacement for Marcelo. However, Real Madrid afterward loaned him to Sevilla, Atlético Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Brentford, with none of those moves resulting in a permanent transfer.
This past summer, Reguilón was linked with several Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Everton, as well as Spanish teams Sevilla and Real Sociedad, but negotiations with those clubs did not materialize.
Because he is a free agent,Reguilón’s signing would not require a transfer and would allow for immediate registration with MLS,despite the transfer window being closed. Romano reported via social media, “Inter Miami in conversations to sign SERGIO REGUILON!” He added, “Reguilón is expected to except, since it will see Inter Miami as the best option despite the multiple proposals on the table.”
