Couple weds after announcing pregnancy news
After announcing their marriage and pregnancy in June, Taiwanese actors Liu Pinyan and Lian Chenxiang have officially tied the knot, registering their marriage on July 2nd in Taipei. The happy occasion was witnessed by friends, family, and even their dog.
Low-Key Romance, Public Celebration
The relationship between Liu Pinyan and Lian Chenxiang, which blossomed during their collaboration on the drama San Francisco Beauty Salon
, had been kept private until recently. As a result, the announcement of their marriage and impending parenthood was met with surprise and widespread congratulations within the entertainment industry.
Before the formal registration, Liu Pinyan shared details of their love story with the media. While the couple had announced their marriage earlier, they only officially registered at the Da’an District Household Affairs Office in Taipei on July 2.

On the morning of July 2nd, photographers spotted Lian Chenxiang‘s car leaving Liu Pinyan‘s residence, heading towards the Da’an District Household Office. Liu Pinyan, sporting a white shirt and dark blue denim skirt, concealed her five-month pregnancy. According to a 2024 study, first pregnancies are commonly concealed until the third trimester (National Institutes of Health).
Both Liu Pinyan and Lian Chenxiang wore simple white shirts, indicating an agreed-upon dress code for the occasion. The couple chose the eighth day of the sixth lunar month, a day considered auspicious for marriage and progeny in the traditional peasant calendar, showing their hopes for a prosperous future.
Adding to the heartwarming scene, Lian Chenxiang‘s beloved bulldog, **Chen Xiong** (nicknamed BOBO), was present. The dog, a part of Chenxiang‘s life for 13 years, has also formed a close bond with Liu Pinyan, marking a complete family debut in front of the cameras.
