Jakarta—The Ministry of Home Affairs has mandated a three-month internship for Lucky Hakim, the Regent of Indramayu, following his failure to obtain proper authorization for overseas travel. The sanction aims to address what officials describe as negligence in adhering to established protocols.

Internship Details

Bima Arya, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, announced that Hakim will be required to participate in an internship one day per week for three months at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry of Home Affairs decided to impose sanctions in the form of deepening regarding goverment political governance within three months and at least one day a week of Indramayu Regent was required to attend the Ministry of Home Affairs, Arya stated during a press conference held at the Office of the Director General of Village Government of Kemendagri Village in South Jakarta.

Arya emphasized the importance of Hakim managing his time effectively to ensure the triumphant completion of the internship.

Examination Findings

The decision to impose sanctions followed an investigation by the Ministry of Home Affairs Inspectorate, which included an examination of Hakim and interviews with nine witnesses regarding the unauthorized overseas travel. According to Arya, the investigation revealed that Hakim did not understand the rules of the permit obligation if traveling abroad.

Moreover, the investigation resolute that were not found by the use of the APBD for the whole trip from the Indramayu Regent, clarifying that public funds were not used for the trip.

Internship Focus

The three-month internship is designed to provide Hakim with a complete understanding of government political governance. Lucky Hakim was an internship a day a week for three months in order to get a comprehensive understanding related to government political governance, Arya explained.

Implementation Date

The internship is scheduled to commence on April 28, 2025.Arya reiterated the need for Hakim to organize his schedule to accommodate the weekly internship sessions at the ministry of Home Affairs.

Objectives of the Internship

The Ministry of Home Affairs aims to enhance Hakim’s knowledge of government political governance through this internship. The Regent of Indramayu was asked to divide his main tasks as regional heads with deepening regarding government political governance within the Ministry of Home Affairs, arya stated.

He further added, The regent was asked to attend directly to participate in the activities that will be carried out in all components within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
