New York Red Bulls Announce Roster Decisions Ahead of 2026 Season

The New York Red Bulls have revealed a series of roster moves as the 2025 season concludes, signaling a period of evaluation and rebuilding for the club.Key decisions include contract extensions for potential returnees, the departure of a starting goalkeeper, and the promotion of a homegrown talent.

These changes come as the Red Bulls assess their performance and strategize for the 2026 campaign. the moves impact the team’s composition across all positions,with implications for both immediate competitiveness and long-term development. Free agency looms for one notable player, while a promising young goalkeeper is set to join the first team ranks in the near future.

Defender Tim Parker and goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci are currently engaged in discussions regarding potential contracts to keep them with the club. Though, goalkeeper Carlos Coronel will not be returning, becoming eligible for Free agency when the window opens on December 10.

Head of Sport Julian de Guzman expressed gratitude for the departing players, stating, “We want to thank the players who will not be returning next season for their hard work and commitment to our club, and we wish them the best of luck in their next endeavors.” he further emphasized the club’s commitment to enhancement, adding, “We know there’s room for improvement, and we’ll continue evaluating the roster to ensure we’re in the best position possible.”

Looking ahead, New York Red Bulls II goalkeeper Tobias Szewczyk will officially join the first-team roster as a homegrown player starting January 1, 2026.
