Cheers for Timo Werner as RB Leipzig Ends 1.FC Köln’s Unbeaten start
RB Leipzig defeated 1. FC Köln 3-1 (3:1) on Saturday, marking the Saxons’ third consecutive Bundesliga win and halting Köln’s previously unbeaten run. The match,played on September 20,2025,at 8:37 p.m., saw RB Leipzig stabilize after a shaky start to the season, climbing into the top group with nine points.
U20 international assan Ouédraogo scored his first Bundesliga goal in his starting eleven debut (13th minute), followed by goals from Rômulo (44th) and captain David Raum (45.+4). Jan Thielmann scored for Cologne (23rd minute).
The game also marked the return of ex-national player Timo Werner to the matchday squad, greeted with applause and speech choirs from fans during warm-up.Werner recently returned from a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
