Today marks the release of Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, a compilation celebrating the iconic platforming hero, Ubisoft announced. The game is available digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, priced at £19.99.
Developed by Digital Eclipse, known for their operate on retro compilations like Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection and Tetris Forever, the edition features five distinct versions of the original 1995 Rayman game. These include releases for the PlayStation, Atari Jaguar, MS-DOS PC, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Color.
Beyond the core game versions, Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition incorporates quality-of-life improvements aimed at enhancing accessibility for modern players. These features include optional infinite lives, invincibility, and a 60-second rewind function. A playable prototype of a cancelled Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of Rayman is also included.
Digital Eclipse has also included an interactive timeline, featuring over 50 minutes of new interviews with the original developers, alongside previously unseen concept art, early sketches, and design documents. The original Rayman debuted in September 1995.
Even as the digital edition is available now, a physical release is scheduled for June. Ubisoft confirmed the release date of February 13th, aligning with a listing previously spotted on the Australian Classification website.
