Ravens Place Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on Injured Reserve
Lamar Jackson suffered a right thumb injury on Baltimore’s first offensive snap against the Buffalo Bills, ending his return after missing the previous three games with an ankle injury.
Jackson and Huntley Head to Injured Reserve
The Baltimore Ravens officially placed quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve on November 5, 2026, ahead of a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both players suffered their injuries during a 36-10 loss to Buffalo.
Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed that Jackson is set for surgery on his right thumb, leaving his availability for the remainder of the season uncertain. Huntley sustained a toe injury in the first half against Buffalo. Reports indicate Huntley could miss the rest of the season with turf toe. Under NFL rules, placing both players on injured reserve means they must miss a minimum of four games.
The transactions leave Baltimore without its top two quarterbacks through a demanding stretch.
Roster Moves and Quarterback Depth
To address the sudden shortage, Baltimore signed Austin Reed to the 53-man active roster. Reed spent training camp with the Ravens before his release and returned to the practice squad on Monday.
Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is slated to make his first NFL start against Jacksonville. Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and an interception in relief against Buffalo. Kedon Slovis, signed off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad during the week, joins Reed and Fagnano in the quarterback room. Baltimore’s three active quarterbacks have combined for a total of 89 passing yards and zero touchdowns over their NFL careers.
Minter has not publicly named who will serve as the backup quarterback behind Fagnano against Jacksonville. Meanwhile, Baltimore is reportedly finalizing a trade to acquire veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. Brissett would not be available to debut until the November 16 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kicking and Defensive Replacements for Thursday Night
In addition to the quarterback overhaul, the Ravens made temporary practice squad elevations for the game against Jacksonville. Kicker Jake Moody and outside linebacker Adisa Isaac joined the active roster for Thursday night.
Moody handles kicking duties while rookie Tyler Loop recovers on injured reserve with a right groin injury sustained earlier in the week. Moody joined Baltimore’s practice squad in October after previously playing for the San Francisco 49ers. Isaac provides extra depth at outside linebacker to generate pass rush.
The Ravens enter the Thursday night contest with a 4-4 record following three consecutive losses.
Unresolved Roster Questions
Beyond the immediate start for Fagnano and the temporary game-day elevations, several personnel questions remain open as the team works through its injury crisis. Minter has not clarified the long-term timeline for Jackson’s potential return beyond noting that surgery is required. The exact status of the pending trade for Brissett and his potential integration into the offense ahead of the Week 10 matchup against Los Angeles also remains unconfirmed by club officials.
