Queen’s Corgis: Cloning & TV Show Idea Revealed
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, reportedly explored the possibility of cloning the late Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis for a potential television program, according to a source who spoke with the British newspaper The Daily Express.
The discussions, which occurred several years ago, involved conversations with managers at Halcyon Studios in Los Angeles. The source stated Ferguson was “up for anything for cash” and eager to return to television. “She was pushing to acquire back on TV and make some money. She had the idea of featuring the Queen’s corgis in a present. And that included the idea of breeding them. As bizarre as it sounds, the idea of cloning them was discussed,” the insider revealed.
The reported scheme centered on presenting the corgis – a breed closely associated with the Queen throughout her reign – as the focal point of a reality television show. The cloning aspect was presented as a potential storyline within the program, though the feasibility and ethical implications were not detailed in the report.
News of the discussions comes after reports of Ferguson’s financial difficulties. The Duchess has undertaken various commercial ventures in recent years, including book deals and brand endorsements. MSN also reported on the plot to clone the Queen’s corgis for reality TV.
Halcyon Studios has not yet commented on the reported conversations with Ferguson. It remains unclear whether the project progressed beyond initial discussions or if any concrete steps were taken toward cloning the royal dogs.
