Qantas A321XLR: New Sydney to Cairns Flights from June 2026

Qantas will introduce Airbus A321XLR aircraft on its Sydney to Cairns route beginning June 20, 2026, with weekend service initially planned through October 24, 2026. The airline will operate the route under flight number QF922, departing Sydney at 9:30 AM and arriving in Cairns at 12:40 PM local time, and QF923, departing Cairns at 1:40 PM and arriving in Sydney at 4:35 PM local time, according to the published schedule covering June 20 to October 3, 2026.

The deployment of the A321XLR marks the entry into service of Qantas’ first aircraft of this type. Qantas recently took delivery of its inaugural A321XLR, according to Airbus.
