Japanese Racing Legend Tetsuya Yamano Joins Project Motor Racing Factory Driver Program
TOKYO, JAPAN – Racing icon Tetsuya Yamano, renowned for his success in Japanese GT racing-including a GT3000 championship win with three diffrent cars during the 2004-2005 season-has been selected for the factory driver program of Project Motor Racing. The appointment comes as Sega, the game’s Japanese publisher, leverages Yamano’s expertise in a beta test initiative focused on refining the simulator’s realism.
The program recruits experienced simracers and professional drivers to evaluate “Development Builds” and provide feedback through a dedicated portal. Yamano, despite limited prior experience with racing games, was drawn to Project Motor Racing due to its fidelity. he initially found discrepancies between virtual and real-world driving in other titles, stating he felt “bad” at them and later distanced himself from gaming. However, he found Project Motor Racing offered a level of precision where “virtual and really matches almost perfectly and becomes just as precise as a real car.”
Yamano’s participation underscores the game’s commitment to delivering a truly realistic driving experience for both casual and dedicated enthusiasts.
