Private Gas Stations to Source Fuel from Pertamina Amid Supply Concerns
Jakarta, Indonesia – Private gas station operators in indonesia have agreed to purchase fuel from state-owned energy company PT Pertamina (Persero) following recent reports of limited stock at several stations, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced today. The move comes after a meeting convened by Minister Bahlil Lahadalia with representatives from shell, BP AKR, Vivo, and ExxonMobil to address the growing scarcity.
The agreement aims to stabilize fuel supply at private stations, which have recently faced challenges in maintaining adequate inventory. Pertamina will supply base fuel, not yet blended with additives, allowing private operators to customize the final product according to specifications set by the Director General of Oil and Gas.
according to Pertamina managing Director Simon Lombongan, the company is not pursuing profit from these sales.”Thay agree and must agree to collaborate with Pertamina,” Lombongan stated, referring to the private gas stations. “The conditions must be a base fuel base, not yet mixed in the form of tea. If initially pertamina wants to sell like tea.”
Pertamina and private gas stations are also preparing to import additional fuel to cover supply needs, with import volumes dependent on reports detailing the requirements of each business entity. Lombongan assured the public that fuel quality will remain consistent and meet established standards, emphasizing Pertamina’s commitment to community obligation.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is also reportedly considering a review of the current one-door fuel import policy, which currently channels imports through Pertamina, following concerns raised by private operators.
