Didier Deschamps Rejects Manchester United in Hopes of Future Real Madrid Move

Didier Deschamps rejected an approach from Manchester United in hopes of a future opportunity to manage Real Madrid, French journalist Santi Aouna reported via AS and turkeyworldcup.com. The 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning coach stepped down from his role leading the France national team in the summer, handing over the reins to Zinedine Zidane. Since leaving the national setup, Deschamps has remained without a club.

Deschamps Rejects Manchester United to Keep Real Madrid Hopes Alive

Manchester United targeted Deschamps as Michael Carrick’s job hung by a thread. Yet, the Premier League heavyweights were turned down by the French boss so he could keep the door open for a future opportunity to manage Real Madrid.

Before Real Madrid appointed Jose Mourinho to a three-year contract in the summer, Deschamps was heavily linked with the Spanish club. The vacancy arose after Madrid parted ways with Alvaro Arbeloa at the conclusion of the previous season. While Deschamps harbors hopes for the Spanish capital, any move in the near future remains highly unlikely.

Jose Mourinho Secures Control at the Santiago Bernabéu

Real Madrid handed Mourinho significant operational power upon his return, backing the Portuguese coach heavily in the transfer market and giving him substantial influence over club dealings. Early results and an improved dressing room atmosphere have solidified his standing.

Players share a powerful bond within the squad now, and team morale has risen significantly relative to the previous campaign. With everyone at Real Madrid fully behind Mourinho, there is very little possibility of any changes happening in the managerial position at the club.
