Prince Harry Commemorates Grandmother, Remains Separate from William & Kate During UK Visit
WINDSOR, England – Prince Harry privately honored the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death today, visiting her grave at windsor and laying flowers alongside a crown. The solemn moment occurred within close proximity to where Prince William and Kate Middleton were engaged in a separate commemorative event.
Despite being only four kilometers apart, Prince Harry and the Prince and Princess of Wales made no effort to meet. William and Kate spent the day at the headquarters of the women’s Institute in Berkshire, an organization with which the late Queen was deeply involved, serving as a member and president for 80 years.
Prince Harry’s four-day visit to the UK does not include any scheduled meetings with his brother.He is set to attend the annual WellChild Award ceremony in London and travel to Nottingham. His team announced plans for a substantial donation to the Children in Need association to support its work against youth violence.
Additional engagements include commitments to the Invictus Games and the Diana Award. Prince Harry undertook this trip leaving his family – Meghan Markle,Archie,and Lilibet – in California. Meghan and their children have not accompanied him on this visit, the first to the UK since April.
A source close to Prince Harry indicated he remains hopeful of bringing his family to the UK in the future. “He has not lost hope of bringing his family back to the United Kingdom. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know his family here. He would really like to return to the United Kingdom even more frequently enough,” the source stated.
It remains unclear whether Prince Harry will meet with King Charles III during this visit.
