The 15th annual Prague Pride festival has commenced, featuring a dedicated Pride Park at Letná. This vibrant hub offers a diverse program across six stages, including performances by notable artists such as Aneta Langerová and Jana Uriel Kratochvílová. Attendees can also experience the talents of Performer Vojtik, the dance post-punk band “something,” and the renowned Drag Queen Miss Petty. Beyond the musical and performance-based entertainment,the park hosts a fair showcasing non-profit organizations,various attractions,and numerous stalls offering food and refreshments. The festivities at Letná are scheduled to conclude at 10 PM.
Prague Pride’s origins trace back to August 2011, and its initial iterations where met with notable opposition from conservative groups. Though, over the subsequent years, the scale of these protest events has diminished. In the most recent year, organizers reported an attendance of approximately 60,000 people, mirroring the turnout from the previous year.
