Prague Lions Roar into ‌Super Cup Final After Dramatic Semifinal

Prague, Czech Republic – The Prague Lions secured their place in⁤ the Super Cup final for the sixth time,⁤ overcoming a challenging semifinal round and benefiting from⁤ a dramatic‍ fall by a key competitor.⁢ The Lions will compete for the championship title against five other teams in ‍the culmination of the Global Champions series.

The Prague Lions’ path to the final wasn’t without hurdles.‌ Rider Bruynseels, substituting for Fernando martinez Sommer, incurred 12 penalty points with his horse origi after dropping three obstacles. However, a clear round from Devos and ‌Casual instantly propelled the home team back into contention. Thibeau Spits with Impress-K added four ‌penalty points to the team total with a late-course ‍error.

Despite a strong performance, the Lions initially ranked ⁢third overall due to a slower time ⁣compared to the New York Empire. They faced an anxious wait, needing at least two teams to finish behind them. The Rome Gladiators, with 20 penalty points, provided one needed result. ⁤

Crucially, a fall by Ben Maher of the Shanghai Swans sealed the lions’ advancement. Maher’s horse, Dallas Vegas batilly, refused an obstacle, unseating the ⁣British rider. The announcer then confirmed the Prague Lions’ qualification, sparking party among the home crowd.

This marks the Prague Lions’ sixth appearance in the Super ⁤Cup final, having previously achieved sixth place in 2022⁣ and fourth place in both 2023 and 2024.

Czech rider Sára Vingrálková will not be joining them in the final. Riding Rock’n roll⁤ for the Scandinavian Vikings, she accumulated 16 penalty points‌ (four‌ dropped obstacles) contributing ⁣to the team’s tenth-place finish with a ⁣total of⁤ 32 penalties.
