Prabowo & Son Greet Public at Istana Negara Open House | Lebaran 2026
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo, greeted citizens during an open house celebration at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Saturday.
Prabowo and Didit were observed interacting directly with attendees, according to reports. The President arrived at a tent in the palace courtyard around 3:00 PM local time, wearing a white koko shirt, while Didit sported a blue one. They walked among the crowds, with Prabowo shaking hands and greeting those gathered along the food service lines.
Enthusiastic citizens paused their meals to witness the President’s arrival, many reaching out to shake his hand. Chants of “Pak Prabowo!” and “Long live Pak Prabowo!” were heard throughout the courtyard, with attendees also capturing the moment with photographs. Didit Hediprasetyo was seen posing for selfies with members of the public.
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya also accompanied President Prabowo during the event. Following the greetings, Prabowo and Didit returned to the Merdeka Palace.
The open house commenced at 12:30 PM, with visitors entering in an orderly fashion through Wisma Negara and proceeding to the central courtyard where food was served. A variety of traditional Eid dishes were available, including lontong, satay, and rendang, alongside other options such as rice with side dishes, siomay, meatballs, and fried noodles. Camilan (snacks) and beverages were also provided.
Children attending the open house received toys, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event was accompanied by the sounds of religious songs, creating a warm and solemn ambiance.
The open house followed a recent silaturahmi (strengthening of ties) between President Prabowo and former President Megawati Soekarnoputri at the Merdeka Palace on March 19th, as reported by the State Secretariat. That meeting, which included Megawati’s daughter, DPR RI Speaker Puan Maharani, and Prabowo’s son, Didit Hediprasetyo, was described as fostering a spirit of unity and togetherness ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
Earlier on Saturday, President Prabowo conducted Salat Idulfitri (Eid prayer) and a halalbihalal gathering with the congregation at the Darussalam Mosque in Aceh Tamiang, and distributed thousands of food packages to residents of North Sumatra during a takbiran (evening procession) in Medan on Friday. The Presidential Palace was opened to the public for Eid celebrations, with President Prabowo preparing a halalbihalal and a reception for citizens.
