Porsche Macan GTS Review: The Sweet Spot of Electric Performance

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

Porsche has priced the 2026 Macan GTS, its all-electric performance SUV, starting at €89,000 (approximately $96,500 USD), positioning it slightly below the range-topping Turbo model which begins at €97,500 (around $106,000 USD). The announcement comes as Porsche prepares to equip all 911 models produced from the 10th calendar week of 2026 with a driver monitoring camera on the steering column, citing legal requirements.

The Macan GTS delivers 571 horsepower when launch control is activated, compared to the Turbo’s 639 hp. Both models share a 95kWh battery pack offering a range of up to 362 miles, and utilize an 800V electrical architecture capable of charging from 10% to 80% in as little as 21 minutes. Porsche emphasizes the GTS as the most “dynamic” and “emotional” offering in the Macan electric lineup.

While not offering a completely unique specification list, the GTS includes features such as the option of Carmine Red paint, flared wheel arches, bespoke side skirts, 22-inch RS Spyder wheels, and tinted LED taillights. The interior features blacked-out Race-Tex elements, and all GTS models are equipped with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), air suspension, and rear-wheel steering. These features, while available on other Macan models like the 4S, are standard on the GTS and have been specifically tuned for enhanced driving dynamics.

Porsche has also integrated new technology into the GTS, including Bluetooth pairing for digital displays, and a passenger display compatible with PlayStation or Xbox controllers for in-car gaming. New parking technology is also included, capable of automatically identifying and executing parking maneuvers, and even learning and repeating tricky maneuvers. A reversing assistant logs the last 50 meters of a journey and can autonomously reverse that route.

The 2026 Porsche Macan GTS weighs 2,395 kg and, according to Porsche, handles like a lighter sports car. The vehicle features synthesized engine notes that vary depending on the drive mode, offering a more engaging driving experience. The price difference of €8,500 between the GTS and Turbo models is considered significant by Porsche, given the limited performance gains offered by the higher-priced variant.

According to AutoScout24, the base price for the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is currently €175,500, making it the entry-level model in the T-Hybrid series. The 911 Carrera GTS achieves a top speed of 312 km/h.
