Police Appeal: 18 Suspects Sought After London March Disorder

London Unite the Kingdom March:​ Police Seek 18 More Suspects Following Clashes

London, UK ⁤-⁤ Metropolitan Police have issued a​ fresh appeal for the​ public’s help in identifying 18 additional individuals suspected of public order ‍offences‍ and assaults on ‍emergency workers stemming from the “Unite the ​Kingdom” march held in central⁢ London on September ​13th. this‌ brings the total number⁢ of people police are seeking to identify to​ 29, following a previous ⁣appeal​ last week.

The rally, organized by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, drew an estimated 110,000 ​to‌ 150,000 attendees who Robinson ​proclaimed were participating⁢ in the “biggest freedom of speech” ⁢event in British history. However,⁣ the event was met with a counter-protest of approximately‍ 5,000 ⁢anti-racism campaigners, leading to clashes⁤ between the two groups in ⁤Whitehall and Trafalgar Square.Police maintained​ a visible presence, working to‌ separate the opposing sides.

To date,24 arrests ​have been made in connection with⁣ the protests -⁤ 23 ​linked ‌to the Unite the Kingdom‍ rally ⁢and one to‍ the counter-protest.⁣ Police identified one individual from the initial appeal ⁤of 11 suspects.

Authorities have released 16 new images of individuals they wish to question regarding a‌ range of offences,including ​public order ​violations and attacks on emergency personnel. Anyone with ‍information is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police.

This ongoing examination⁣ underscores the tensions surrounding ⁤the event and the police’s⁤ commitment to holding those responsible for ​unlawful behavior⁣ accountable.
