Pokémon UNITE Revival Stars Balance Update April 16
Pokémon Unite implemented a comprehensive system update on Thursday, April 16, 2026, introducing a major balance adjustment titled “Revival Stars” alongside new tournament regulations and gameplay modifications.
The “Revival Stars” balance adjustment focuses on strengthening Pokémon that have remained inactive or ineffective within the competitive battle environment for an extended period. This initiative aims to diversify the viable roster available to players in active combat.
Implementation of All-Star Draft Rules
A new custom rule, designated as “All-Star Draft,” has been added to the Tournament Mode options. This rule is specifically designed for match formats requiring a set number of victories, such as “First to 2” or “First to 3” wins.

Under the All-Star Draft system, any Pokémon that enters the stadium for a match is ineligible to participate in any subsequent matches within that same series. Once a Pokémon has competed, it is moved to a supporting role and cannot be selected again. The ten Pokémon utilized in the opening match—five from each team—are automatically removed from the selection pool for the remainder of the event. This mechanism is intended to prevent reliance on a small group of dominant Pokémon and requires teams to utilize a broader range of their roster to secure victory.
Gameplay and Technical Adjustments
The update includes a specific modification to battle mechanics, increasing the radius for experience sharing. The distance at which players share experience has been expanded from 6 meters to 7 meters.
Additional technical maintenance was conducted as part of the April 16 rollout, which included general bug fixes, text corrections, and updates to the in-game shop and events.
Seasonal Content and Cosmetic Updates
The update coincides with the refreshing of the Season Battle Pass and the opening of the Johto Special Shop. New cosmetic options have been introduced through the game’s lottery and challenge systems.
The Prize Machine has been updated to include a “Tea Party” style Clefable, while the Treasure Box Challenge now features an “Aurora” style Suicune. These updates were deployed at 16:00 on April 16, requiring an application restart for all users to reflect the changes.
