Pokémon Pokopia Trailer Reveals Relaxing, Landscape-Shaping Gameplay & New Pokémon Forms
Los Angeles, CA – November 14, 2025 – A new trailer for Pokémon Pokopia, Nintendo’s upcoming life-simulation Pokémon game, debuted today showcasing a gameplay loop heavily inspired by Animal Crossing, alongside the reveal of unique Pokémon forms and a new professor. The game, slated for release on March 5, 2026, will be the first Nintendo-published title physically released via a Switch 2 Game-Key card.
Pokémon Pokopia centers around rebuilding a ruined town with the help of Pokémon. Players will complete quests given by Professor Tangrowth and other creatures, utilizing Pokémon abilities to tame the landscape and create new environments to attract more Pokémon. Multiple Pokémon can collaborate on larger projects, such as constructing buildings and amenities like fountains.
The trailer highlighted several new and altered Pokémon designs. Among them where Mosslax, a Snorlax covered in moss, and Smearguru, a Smeargle adorned with colorful paint. Players can also copy abilities from other Pokémon – like Water Gun from Squirtle to water plants – and even fully transform into certain species for faster travel, including lapras for surfing and Dragonite for flying.
Nintendo confirmed the March 5, 2026 release date earlier this week, alongside the Game-Key card proclamation. Pokémon Pokopia will support multiplayer for up to four players and GameShare, allowing those without the game to join in on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
