Pixel watch Set to Gain New Gestures, Bringing Enhanced Control to Wear OS
Pixel Watch users may soon have more ways to interact with their devices, as code discovered in a recent Pixel Watch app update reveals the potential return of double pinch and wrist gestures. these additions would bring the Pixel Watch’s gesture controls more in line with competitors like Apple and Samsung, offering a more intuitive user experience.
Currently, the Pixel Watch features gestures like Raise to Talk and Tilt-to-Wake. The newly spotted code suggests a “Double Pinch” gesture, when enabled, will allow users to “answer calls, interact with notifications, take photos and more.” Wrist gestures are also making a comeback, offering the ability to “silence calls, and close alerting notifications.” Notably, Wear OS previously included wrist gestures, but they were removed with the release of Wear OS 3.
While Google has not yet announced a release date for these features, the finding of the code indicates an imminent rollout. It remains unclear which Pixel Watch models will be compatible, though hopes are that support will extend to at least the Pixel Watch 3 lineup.
