Pixel March Update: Full List of 16 Bug Fixes & Improvements

Google this morning released the March 2026 Pixel update, addressing 16 identified bugs and issues across a range of device functions, from audio playback to core framework stability. The update, which began rolling out Tuesday, accompanies a broader “Pixel Drop” of new features including enhanced Circle to Search capabilities and expanded Gemini AI integration, as reported separately.

The fixes target problems impacting Pixel devices from the 6 series through the newly released 10 series, though not all fixes apply to every model. A core focus of the update addresses audio stability, resolving a reported issue causing crashes during audio playback and a delay in the appearance of the speaker icon when adjusting volume settings. Camera stability also receives attention, with a fix for crashes within the camera service itself.

Several fixes address display and graphics issues, including a resolution for system crashes that impacted overall Android stability, and a separate fix for instances where the device screen would freeze, rendering the phone temporarily unusable. Users had also reported occasional fuzzy or incorrect display behavior, which Google says has been corrected. Performance improvements were also included for the Pixel 10, specifically optimizing the OpenCL driver to reduce overhead and improve benchmark scores.

Underlying framework issues also received attention. Fixes were implemented to address UI freezes, temporary freezes related to background processing of Android intelligence features, and crashes occurring during the startup of certain services. Battery reporting inaccuracies, particularly when using wireless charging, have also been addressed.

Telephony performance also saw improvements, with fixes for unexpected device instability that could lead to temporary loss of cellular service, alongside general improvements for network connection stability. Finally, the update resolves a user interface issue where applications could become unresponsive after quickly switching between recent apps and the home screen, and a delay experienced when opening the audio output selector although music was playing in the background.

The fixes are being rolled out to the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, Fold, Tablet, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold, and 10a. According to Google support documentation, some fixes may be carrier or region-specific. The March update also includes the Android 16 QPR3 security patch, resolving 63 security issues dated March 1, 2026, and an additional 66 issues dated March 5, 2026, ranging in severity from “High” to “Critical,” with 10 additional fixes specific to Google devices.
