Pink and Carey Hart: 20 Years of Marriage – Split or Not?

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Pop singer Pink has publicly disputed reports that she and her husband, former motocross racer Carey Hart, have separated after 20 years of marriage. The initial reports, published by People magazine on Thursday, cited an unnamed source claiming a split between the couple, who share two children: Willow Sage, 14, and Jameson Moon, 9.

Pink addressed the reports directly in a video posted to her Instagram account, calling the story “fake news” and questioning the source’s motives. “I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband. I didn’t know. Thank you People Magazine. Thank you US Weekly. Thank you for letting me know,” she said in the clip. She further questioned whether the publications intended to inform their children of the alleged separation before her.

The Associated Press reported that Pink’s representatives declined to comment beyond the Instagram video, and Hart’s representatives did not respond to requests for comment. People magazine subsequently updated its story to acknowledge Pink’s denial.

What we have is not the first time the couple has faced public speculation about the state of their relationship. Pink and Hart initially separated in 2008, a period that inspired Pink’s hit song “So What,” and its accompanying music video which featured Hart. They reconciled in 2009 after undergoing marriage counseling.

The couple met in 2001 at the Summer X Games and became engaged in 2005, with Pink proposing to Hart during a motocross competition. They married in Costa Rica in January 2006.

In recent months, signs of strain within the marriage had emerged. The couple did not publicly acknowledge their 20th wedding anniversary in January, and reports indicated they appeared distant at a US Open event in September 2025, with neither wearing their wedding rings, according to sources cited in multiple reports.

Pink has previously spoken candidly about the challenges of long-term relationships, describing her marriage as “rough” and acknowledging the importance of forgiveness and shared history. In a 2025 interview, she stated, “Long-term relationships aren’t simple. It’s a lot easier to just stay in the good days and jump from relationship to relationship because you don’t have to deal with the stuff that keeps coming up.”

As of Friday, February 27, Pink has not offered further comment beyond her initial Instagram post.
